I have been working as a media <a href=\"https:\/\/harrisburg.psu.edu\/faculty-and-staff\/nakho-kim-phd\">researcher <\/a>and <a href=\"https:\/\/slownews.kr\/\">practitioner<\/a> for <a href=\"https:\/\/madisoncommons.org\/\">quite<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/m.hankookilbo.com\/Collect\/2056\">some<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/ppss.kr\">time<\/a>, focusing on participatory online journalism, differences in news media systems, understanding how news ecologies work in our digital era, and other relevant topics to help building a better informed democracy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-link-color wp-elements-cc11f7c2346247f257d3a0694c916838\">At the same time I am involved in popular culture topics such as sociocultural contexts of comics, digital game education, etc.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-link-color wp-elements-ef7c3da47a57c668464f9e277d69794a\">&#8211; This is a <a href=\"https:\/\/capcold.net\/eng\/blog\/courses-i-have-taught\/\">list of courses<\/a> I have taught at the university-level.<br>&#8211; Much of the <a href=\"https:\/\/capcold.net\/eng\/blog\/?page_id=191\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"191\">journalistic projects and articles<\/a> are being done in Korean media outlets.<br>&#8211; This is a list of <a href=\"https:\/\/capcold.net\/eng\/blog\/?page_id=192\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"192\">selected academic writings<\/a>.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>As for this blog<\/strong>: it opened a long long long time ago when WordPress was still at 1.x. It was abandoned for a long time, while I experimented with other channels in the vast media environment. Kinda sorta opening it up again, because those somewhere-elses are becoming increasingly dysfunctional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>About the title of this blog<\/strong>: the public sphere is not a place, but a set of (inter)actions of the people in it and around it. We <em>are<\/em> the public sphere, in as long as we <em>make it happen<\/em> through rational communication to make our societies work better for our common good.
